Partners

Project partnership consists of partners that operate on all three levels:

  • research (Malta University)
  • policy level (SIAE, L&W, ICPA; EAEA)
  • practice level (CIK, Baia Mare).

 

Centre for Education and Culture Trebnje (CIK Trebnje): CIK Trebnje is a public organization, established by the Trebnje municipality to promote and develop an adult education. Organization has three units: Gallery of naïve artists, Adult education center and Local Action Group (LAG) STIK.


 

Slovenian Institute for Adult Education (SIAE): SIAE is the main national institution for research and development, quality and education, guidance and validation, and promotional and informative activities in the field of adult education. It was founded by decree on 27 September 1991. Thus, at the end of 2014 SIAE was completing 23 years of successfully promoting the development of adult education and cooperation in establishing a culture of lifelong learning.


 

European Association for Education of Adults (EAEA): The European Association for the Education of Adults is the voice of non-formal and informal adult education in Europe. EAEA is a transnational, non-profit association with 141 members in 45 countries. EAEA promotes the social inclusion aspects of the EU 2020 strategy; it promotes adult learning and the widening of access and participation in formal and non-formal adult education for all, particularly for under-represented groups.


 

International Corrections and Prisons Association (ICPA): The International Corrections and Prisons Association (ICPA) is a non-governmental organization in Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations (ECOSOC) for corrections and prison professionals. Founded in 1998, ICPA represents a membership based in over 80 countries around the world dedicated to improving global understanding and professionalism in the sector.


 

National Learning and Work Institute (L&W): Learning and Work Institute is an independent policy and research organisation dedicated to lifelong learning, full employment and inclusion. It brings together over 90 years of combined history and heritage from the ‘National Institute of Adult Continuing Education’ and the ‘Centre for Economic & Social Inclusion’.


 

University of Malta, Prison Education and Re-Entry Programme (University of Malta): The University of Malta is the highest teaching institution of the State by which it is mainly financed and is open to all those who have the requisite qualifications. The University has been involved as coordinator and partner in numerous externally funded and EU-funded projects including Horizon 2020, Framework Programme, Lifelong Learning Programme, Erasmus+, Tempus and various other international and regional programmes and initiatives.


 

Penitenciarul Baia Mare: Baia Mare Prison is a public institution of national interest in defence, public order and national security area, with legal personality. Is a subordinate unit of the National Administration of Penitentiaries. Baia Mare Prison was established by presidential decree in 01/10/1973. It is an institution of adult education from double perspective: has the obligation to provide education for inmates, and continuing training of all employees.

European Prison Education Association (EPEA): The European Prison Education Association is an organisation made up of prison educators, administrators, governors, researchers and other professionals whose interests lie in promoting and developing education and related activities in prisons throughout Europe in accordance with the recommendations of the Council of Europe.


Department of Penitentiary Institutions of the Republic of MoldovaA structure of institutions that ensure the application of the penalties for deprivation of liberty, the measure of preventive arrest, the sanction of the contravention arrest, as well as of the measures for the safety of detainees, the penitentiary system, having the primary task of ensuring the order of law and security in the detention and society institutions, a difficult path to reform
